Elements of Competency Performance Criteria              
Element: Apply workplace emergency procedures
  • Emergency is identified correctly and reported to relevant personnel according to Emergency Response Plan (ERP)
       
Element: Alarm is raised according to ERP and workplace procedures
       
Element: Nature, location and type of emergency is established and recorded, including cause of the emergency
       
Element: Respond to an emergency
  • Emergency procedures and instructions are followed according to workplace procedures and ERP
       
Element: Communication and collaboration with personnel are maintained with personnel at all times
       
Element: Emergency equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are selected and used according to the relevant ERP
       
Element: Assistance is provided to distressed and injured persons in accordance with ERP, workplace procedures and supervisor instructions
       
Element: Conclude emergency response
  • All persons are accounted for, and outcomes are reported correctly and followed according to workplace procedures and ERP
       
Element: Emergencies are recorded accurately and reported to the appropriate personnel in accordance with workplace procedures

Assessment Tasks
